RHB Hackathon 2017
Had the most awesome but tiring weekend with my extremely talented friends at "Team LIT" at the RHB Hackathon 2017.
We developed an app, DIME which really transacts with the Ethereum testnet blockchain (Ropsten). Why did we do this? Well, the business answer is because we were trying to pitch a use case for physical settlement of cryptocurrency in Malaysia, but the real answer is basically the developers wanted to do something cool and different for this hackathon.
Why did we transact with the testnet and not the mainnet? Because we didn't want to have to buy real Ethereum to show that our prototype worked. :) Overall, we won the "Best Technical Fit" category, which we were really happy with since everything only came together at the last minute.
The event was held at Common Ground, a co-working space. Even though it was 5 minutes away from my house, I didn't get to shower for 2 days.
